There is a season of the walk that few people talk about—the long middle. The beginning carried excitement and resolve. The end holds promise and anticipation. But the middle requires perseverance, where progress is measured in inches rather than milestones.
For many Christian women, this is where discouragement quietly settles in. They are still praying. Still obeying. Still showing up. Yet visible change feels slow, and the temptation to wonder whether effort matters begins to surface.
God honors perseverance. Scripture repeatedly affirms that faithfulness sustained over time produces fruit, even when growth is hidden.
The Lie: If progress were real, it would be faster by now.
This lie erodes perseverance by redefining success as speed rather than faithfulness. It encourages women to abandon steady obedience in search of quicker validation.
Lie-Locked Living shows up as impatience, discouragement, comparison, and the urge to quit just before growth emerges.
God’s work often unfolds slowly so roots can grow deep.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” — Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
Scripture does not deny weariness. It offers hope beyond it. Perseverance bridges the gap between obedience and harvest.
Noah obeyed God’s instructions long before rain ever appeared. Year after year, he built the ark amid skepticism and silence.
“Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.” — Genesis 6:22 (KJV)
Noah’s perseverance was not fueled by visible confirmation, but by trust in God’s word. Obedience preceded understanding.
Perseverance honors God when results are not yet visible.
Target the Lie (Awareness): Believing speed defines progress
Replace with Scripture (Anchor): God brings harvest in due time
Understand Its Meaning (Alignment): Perseverance sustains obedience between promise and fulfillment
Turn It into a Declaration (Activation): I remain faithful even when progress feels slow
Hold It in Prayer (Abide): God strengthens me to continue
Perseverance grows when truth steadies expectation.
Research in behavior change and resilience shows that long-term success depends on consistency and patience rather than intensity. Small actions, repeated faithfully, produce lasting results.
God designed growth this way:
“First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.” — Mark 4:28 (KJV)
Slow growth is still growth.
Coaching reveals that discouragement often peaks just before breakthrough. When effort is high and results are delayed, doubt grows louder.
Walking in perseverance means choosing faithfulness without constant feedback.
Consistency carries women forward when motivation fades.
Measure faithfulness instead of outcomes
Resist comparison that distorts progress
Celebrate small signs of growth
Recommit to the next right step
Some personalities persist through sheer discipline; others need encouragement and visible markers. Understanding personal wiring helps women persevere without burnout.
God equips perseverance uniquely in each woman.
A woman once said, “I feel like I am doing everything right, but nothing is changing.” Through coaching, she learned to identify subtle progress she had overlooked.
As perspective shifted, perseverance felt purposeful again.
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” — Walter Elliot
I walk in perseverance, remaining faithful when progress feels slow. God is working beyond what I can see, and I trust His timing.
Where have you been tempted to quit because progress feels slow?
What evidence of faithfulness can you acknowledge today?
How might trusting God’s timing renew your perseverance?
God does not waste faithful obedience. He multiplies it in His time.
As you walk in perseverance, remember that every steady step is carrying you closer to the harvest God has promised.
“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)
