There are moments in life that divide everything into two parts:
Before…
and after.
Before the mistake.
Before the regret.
Before the season that still whispers your name in ways you wish it would not.
And then… something happens.
Something shifts.
Not outwardly at first…
but deeply, quietly, within.
In Acts of the Apostles 9:1–6 (KJV), we meet a man known as Saul.
Strong.
Driven.
Certain.
And completely wrong.
“And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:” — Acts 9:3 (KJV)
Saul was not searching for truth.
He believed he already had it.
He was actively opposing the very people God was calling him to become.
And yet…
God did not wait for Saul to get it right.
He met him on the road.
Blinding light.
Clear voice.
Undeniable moment.
“Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” — Acts 9:4 (KJV)
This was not just correction.
It was interruption.
Transformation does not begin with behavior.
It begins with revelation.
A moment where what you thought was true…
is replaced with what actually is.
Many women try to change:
But underneath it all…
the same identity remains.
Paul’s life reminds us:
You do not need a better version of your old self.
You need a new foundation of truth.
The Lie:
“My past defines my future.”
This lie keeps women anchored to:
It whispers:
“You will always be that person.”
Target the Lie:
“My past is who I am.”
Replace with Truth:
In Christ, your identity is rewritten.
Understand Its Meaning:
Saul did not become a slightly improved version of himself.
He became Paul.
A new direction.
A new purpose.
A new life.
Turn It into a Declaration:
“My past is part of my story, but it does not define my future.”
Hold It in Prayer:
Lord, show me where I am still living from old identity… and renew my mind with truth.
Where have you been allowing your past…
to speak louder than God’s truth?
Where do you still see yourself…
through an old lens?
God does not erase your story.
He redeems it.
What once felt like disqualification…
becomes part of your testimony.
Neuroscience teaches that identity is shaped by repeated thought patterns.
The brain forms pathways based on what is believed over time.
But here is the hope:
Those pathways can be rewired.
When truth is repeated… believed… and lived…
Transformation is not just spiritual.
It becomes biological.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2 (KJV)
This week, take intentional steps:
Transformation begins with truth…
but it is strengthened through repetition.
You have:
Now…
You are reminded that you, too, are still being transformed.
And that is not weakness.
That is the walk.
Paul did not spend his life looking backward.
He walked forward…
Carrying the evidence of what God had done.
Not hiding his past…
But using it.
Your story is not finished.
And what God is doing in you…
may one day become the very thing that leads someone else to Him.
I am not defined by my past.
I am transformed by truth.
I walk forward in the identity God has given me.
“She is clothed with strength and honour; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)
