Many faithful Christian women quietly carry a holy tension.
They sense God may be calling them forward…
into leadership…
into service…
into something that stretches them.
Yet almost immediately, another voice rises within:
I am not the right person.
Someone else could do this better.
I do not have what it takes.
If you have ever stood in that space between calling and confidence, you are in deeply biblical company.
Moses himself wrestled with the same hesitation.
And his story offers steady hope for every woman who has ever felt unqualified.
“And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
— Exodus 3:11 (KJV)
This is one of the most honest responses in all of Scripture.
Who am I?
Not rebellion.
Not refusal.
But humble awareness of personal limitation.
In Exodus 3, Moses encounters the Lord at the burning bush — a sacred moment that would redirect the course of his life.
God was clear.
Moses was chosen.
The assignment was given.
Yet Moses’ immediate focus was not on God’s power.
It was on his own perceived insufficiency.
Many sincere believers still stand in this same moment today.
When God begins to stretch us, a familiar lie often whispers:
I am not enough for what God is asking.
It may sound like:
I am not experienced enough
I am not confident enough
I am not ready yet
I am not the natural choice
This is where many women quietly step back from assignments God is gently opening before them.
Yet notice carefully — God did not argue with Moses about his résumé.
He redirected Moses’ focus.
God’s response to Moses is one of the most stabilizing truths in all of Scripture.
“Certainly I will be with thee…”
— Exodus 3:12 (KJV)
He did not say:
You are fully prepared.
You are naturally gifted.
You are the obvious choice.
He said:
I will be with thee.
The Truth Mindset™ invites this powerful shift:
From: I am not enough
To: God is more than sufficient through me
This is the quiet confidence that sustains Kingdom work.
God created a rich tapestry of personality styles, yet feelings of inadequacy can touch every one of them.
In moments of stretching:
the driven woman may fear failure
the analytical woman may over-question readiness
the relational woman may fear disappointing others
the peace-seeking woman may hesitate to step forward
Moses himself continued to express concerns in Exodus 3–4, showing us something deeply human:
Even faithful people can feel hesitant at the edge of calling.
Yet God works patiently with willing hearts.
Most Christian women today are not standing before Pharaoh.
But many are standing before moments that feel just as stretching:
launching something new
stepping into leadership
having a hard conversation
pursuing a calling long delayed
using their voice more boldly
Often, the greatest barrier is not opportunity.
It is internal hesitation.
This is where the Truth Mindset™ becomes so vital.
This week, walk gently through these strengthening practices.
Moses’ first response was honest.
Ask yourself prayerfully:
Where might God be nudging me forward, but I feel hesitant?
Awareness brings clarity.
God’s promise was never rooted in Moses’ natural strength.
It was rooted in divine companionship.
When you feel inadequate, gently rehearse this truth:
God goes with me.
Moses was not asked to solve everything at once.
He was asked to obey step by step.
The Truth Mindset™ grows strongest when women choose:
one obedient step
one faithful response
one courageous moment at a time
Progress in the Kingdom often begins quietly.
Speak this slowly and with steady confidence:
God is with me in every assignment He gives.
I release the lie of inadequacy.
His strength is working through my willing obedience,
and I will follow His footsteps with courage and trust.
Invite your readers to linger prayerfully:
Where have I recently felt unqualified or hesitant?
What thoughts tend to surface when I sense God stretching me?
How does Exodus 3:12 reshape my view of readiness?
What is one faithful step I can take this week?
Dear sister, Moses’ story did not end at the question, Who am I?
It unfolded into one of the most significant leadership journeys in Scripture.
Not because Moses suddenly felt fully confident…
But because God remained faithfully present.
As you continue to Follow the Footsteps, may your heart grow steadier in this quiet and powerful truth:
God does not call the woman who feels most ready.
He strengthens the woman who is willing to walk with Him.
And He will be with you every step of the way.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
— Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)
