📖 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” — Psalm 139:14 KJV
August is Psoriasis Action Month, a time to raise awareness and bring hope to the millions living with this chronic skin condition. Psoriasis is more than just a skin issue—it is an autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system speeds up the life cycle of skin cells, causing them to build up rapidly. This leads to scaling, redness, itching, and sometimes pain.
For many, the visible symptoms also carry an emotional burden. Feelings of embarrassment, frustration, or isolation can creep in. But dear friend, God sees you, and He calls you beautiful and wonderfully made—no condition or diagnosis can alter your worth in His eyes.
Lie-Locked Living whispers:
“I am flawed because of my skin.”
“Others will only see my condition, not me.”
“This will always hold me back.”
But the Truth Mindset declares:
“My body may struggle, but I am whole and loved in Christ.”
“God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.”
“My story can bring encouragement to others.”
While there is no cure for psoriasis, many treatments and lifestyle choices can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
Medical Treatments: Topical creams, light therapy, and systemic medications prescribed by a dermatologist can reduce inflammation and slow cell growth.
Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and managing stress can all help. Stress, in particular, is known to trigger flare-ups—making rest and prayer powerful allies.
Avoiding Triggers: Common triggers include infections, cold weather, skin injuries, smoking, alcohol, and certain medications. Awareness can help reduce flare-ups.
While doctors treat the body, God ministers to the soul. Prayer, Scripture meditation, and resting in God’s love provide spiritual healing that medical science cannot touch. His peace can calm the stress and emotional toll that psoriasis often brings.
📖 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 KJV
I declare that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Though my body may face challenges, my worth and beauty are secure in Christ Jesus.
You are not alone in this journey. Whether you live with psoriasis or love someone who does, this month is an invitation to take action—seek treatment, extend grace to yourself, and lean into God’s truth. Your identity is not wrapped in a diagnosis but in the One who calls you His beloved.
