World-renowned leadership expert John C. Maxwell once said, “Everyone communicates, but few connect.” His book Everyone Communicates, Few Connect reminds us that true success in business and leadership depends not on how much we say, but on how deeply we connect with others.
For Christian women in business, connection is more than a leadership skill—it is a Kingdom calling. Jesus Himself modeled the art of connection, whether He was speaking to crowds or ministering one-on-one. He found common ground, communicated clearly, inspired deeply, and always stayed authentic.
📖 “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” — Colossians 4:6 KJV
Connection begins where you and the other person meet. Whether with clients, coworkers, or team members, seek the things you share.
Ask questions.
Listen with genuine curiosity.
Show people that you value their perspective.
📖 “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.” — Romans 12:10 KJV
Clarity builds trust. Overcomplicated language or jargon can create a sense of distance. Jesus often used stories and simple parables to make eternal truths accessible to everyone. In business, simplicity makes you memorable and approachable.
People remember stories, not statistics. Share personal experiences, testimonies, and stories that reveal your heart. When you capture someone’s interest, you gain not just their attention, but also their trust.
People want more than information—they long for inspiration. As Christian businesswomen, we have the greatest source of inspiration: the hope that Christ offers. Lead by example, showing perseverance, integrity, and faith in action.
Zig Ziglar said, “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Inspiration flows when you genuinely care.
Authenticity is the cornerstone of connection. In a world of filters and façades, being real sets you apart. Do not be afraid to admit struggles or share lessons learned—people are drawn to authenticity far more than perfection.
📖 “Provide things honest in the sight of all men.” — Romans 12:17 KJV
Lie-Locked Living says: “I must impress others to succeed.”
The Truth Mindset declares: “God calls me to serve authentically, not impress. Real connection grows from honesty and love.”
Schedule time each week to intentionally build relationships, rather than just completing tasks.
Before meetings, pray for wisdom to listen more than you speak.
Share a story of faith, resilience, or learning that others can relate to.
Ask yourself daily: “Did I inspire, encourage, and connect with someone today?”
“I build authentic connections that honor God and uplift others. I lead with clarity, inspiration, and integrity in all my relationships.”
Christian women in business have a unique opportunity to reflect Christ in the marketplace. By practicing Maxwell’s principles of connection—finding common ground, keeping communication simple, capturing interest, inspiring others, and staying authentic—you not only succeed in business but also make an eternal impact.
📖 “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 KJV
